Krafton

Krafton is a South Korean video game holding and publishing company based in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, that oversees subsidiaries developing and releasing games like PUBG: Battlegrounds. The company manages a portfolio of game studios, expanding significantly after the global success of PUBG, which has garnered hundreds of millions of players worldwide. In 2018, Tencent invested US$500 million for a 10% stake, further solidifying its market position and global reach. Krafton completed its initial public offering on the Korea Exchange in August 2021, a move that made founder and chairman Chang Byung-gyu a billionaire. CEO Kim Chang-han leads the company, which saw its chairman donate ₩37.4 billion (US$30 million) in stock to employees in March 2022. Krafton was established on November 5, 2018, by Chang Byung-gyu.
