GFR Fund is a San Francisco-based venture capital firm that invests in early-stage consumer technology, gaming, and digital entertainment startups from the pre-seed to Series A stages. Operating with an eleven-person investment team across additional offices in New York and Singapore, the firm manages a diverse portfolio of over 100 companies distributed across more than ten countries. Backed by strategic Asian investors including its primary affiliate GREE Inc., the organization leverages its corporate network to facilitate global expansion into Japanese and Southeast Asian markets for its portfolio. Following its initial $18.3 million debut vehicle, the firm expanded its investment strategy by launching GFR Artists, a dedicated sub-fund co-founded by venture partner Nikhil Gopalani that issues $100,000 checks to emerging creator economy ventures. GFR Fund was officially established in 2016 by co-founder and managing partner Teppei Tsutsui.
