CommerzVentures is the corporate venture capital fund of Commerzbank Group that invests in early- and growth-stage financial services and insurance technology companies, based in Frankfurt, Germany. The firm operates as an independent entity focused primarily on generating financial returns, targeting innovative startups across Europe, Israel, the United States, and Africa. While maintaining operational independence, the fund provides its portfolio companies with strategic access to key decision makers within the broader banking and insurance ecosystems. It currently manages €550 million in total assets under management and typically makes initial equity investments ranging from €2 million to €10 million, starting at the Series A funding stage. The firm has backed several recognizable fintech and insurtech businesses, including eToro, Concirrus, Elwood, Mosaic Smart Data, and OpenLegacy. CommerzVentures was founded in 2014 by Patrick Meisberger and Stefan Tirtey.
