ClearTax, now operating under the name Clear, is a Bangalore, India based financial technology company providing SaaS tools for automated income tax filing, GST compliance, and mutual fund investments. Having pivoted away from its initial consumer focus, the company primarily operates a B2B subscription model utilizing artificial intelligence to streamline billing and financial planning. Operating with an estimated workforce of 501 to 1,000 employees, the platform serves a user base that includes over six million individual taxpayers and more than 600,000 commercial businesses. Backed by the startup accelerator Y Combinator, the software is also utilized by 60,000 chartered accountants, 80,000 tax practitioners, and over 1,000 large enterprise customers across the Indian market. ClearTax was originally founded in 2011 by chief executive officer Archit Gupta alongside cofounders Raja Ram Gupta, Srivatsan Chari, and Ankit Solanki.
