Max Levchin

Max Levchin is the Chief Executive Officer of Affirm Holdings, Inc., currently based in San Francisco, California. Under his direct leadership, the global consumer lending platform went public in 2021 with an initial valuation exceeding $12 billion and currently processes over $28 billion in annual gross merchandise volume for a base of more than 20 million active users. Previously, he served as the co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of PayPal, working alongside Peter Thiel before the payment pioneer's $1.5 billion acquisition by eBay in 2002. The Ukrainian-born entrepreneur also spent time as an early engineer at Stanford University and recently reported a 25 percent growth in quarterly merchandise volume during the early months of 2026.
