Zain Jaffer

Zain Jaffer is the Managing Partner of Zain Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm and family office based in Austin, Texas. Prior to his investment career, he studied Computer Science at the University of Waterloo and successfully scaled multiple software startups. His entrepreneurial track record includes founding Sana Commerce, which was acquired by private equity in 2021, and developing GingerBill, which was sold to Unity Technologies. Operating within the broader Techstars and Austin technology ecosystems, Jaffer has built a diverse portfolio of more than 100 early-stage companies. He recently expanded his firm's capital base by launching a $50 million artificial intelligence fund in 2024, executing three new AI investments in the first quarter of 2026. His current focus centers on deploying capital and operational expertise into seed-stage artificial intelligence, financial technology, and enterprise software startups globally.
