Tom Egan

Tom Egan is a General Partner at 8VC based in San Francisco, California, where he leads investments in enterprise software and frontier technology. Since joining the firm in 2022, he has built a portfolio of over 30 companies and recently led a $50 million Series A expansion round for Anduril Industries in 2024. Prior to his current role, Egan served as a Principal at Founders Fund and held investment positions at Thrive Capital. His operational experience includes working at Cruise Automation, an autonomous vehicle startup that was acquired by General Motors for $1 billion in 2016. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College and completed the General Course at the London School of Economics. Egan currently focuses on scaling early-stage startups across the artificial intelligence, climate, defense, and financial technology sectors.
