Tom Benedetti

Tom Benedetti is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Blue Heron Capital, a venture capital firm based in Richmond, Virginia. Before establishing the investment firm, he co-founded the fundraising and event planning agency Benedetti & Farris, and he holds a bachelor's degree in government from the College of William & Mary alongside an MBA from Georgetown University. With over a decade of experience in healthcare investing, he serves on the firm's Investment Committee and oversees an active portfolio that includes ShiftMed, Verato, and CSA Medical. Benedetti has guided multiple private placements and advisory initiatives, leading to notable portfolio exits such as the 2018 sale of Avizia to American Well and the December 2021 exit of Verisma. His current focus remains on directing growth-stage venture investments and advisory services across the healthcare sector.
