TJ Rylander is a General Partner at Next47, an independent venture firm backed by Siemens based in Palo Alto, California, where he focuses on deep technology, cybersecurity, data management, connected devices, and industrial robotics. Prior to this, he spent ten years as a Managing Partner at In-Q-Tel, the strategic venture capital arm of the U.S. Intelligence Community, bridging government intelligence needs with startup innovation. While co-leading the Infrastructure and Security practice, he directed strategic investments in prominent technology companies including FireEye, Cloudera, Pure Storage, Cloudant, and Platfora. Earlier in his career, he served as a Project Leader at Boston Consulting Group and held finance positions focused on international energy development and clean energy mergers and acquisitions at Enron. Today, this veteran investor leverages his extensive background to scale emerging technologies across the industrial and data infrastructure sectors.
