Tamara Steffens

Tamara Steffens is the Managing Director at Thomson Reuters Ventures in Canada, where she leads a global investment team focused on early-stage enterprise technology companies. Under her leadership, the strategic corporate venture fund launched a $150 million second fund in February 2025, following an initial $100 million vehicle in 2021. Previously, she managed investing and venture capital partnerships at M12, Microsoft's venture fund, and led business development for Microsoft Office 365 while architecting mobile strategies. Her operational experience spans over 20 years across six startups, including serving as Senior Vice President of Business Development at Acompli before its acquisition by Microsoft, and facilitating portfolio exits to Apple and KakaoTalk. Steffens currently leverages her dual expertise as an operator and investor to drive corporate venture capital initiatives and align startup ecosystems with strategic enterprise partnerships.
