Steve Kuo

Steve Kuo is the Senior Managing Director and Group Head of Technology at Hercules Capital. Operating within the venture lending space, he leads debt and equity investments across the technology sector and has deployed more than $1.2 billion in capital to date. Throughout his 19-year career in structured finance, Kuo has financed and partnered with several notable breakout companies, including Box, Lightspeed, IronPlanet, Trulia, and Machine Zone. Before joining Hercules Capital, he gained foundational investment experience while serving as a principal at Comdisco Ventures. Additionally, he worked as a strategic member and led the product management team at the venture-backed silicon photonics startup Lightcross. His current focus centers on providing operational and structured finance solutions to technology firms, supporting enterprises ranging from early-stage concepts to mature businesses generating over a billion dollars in annual revenue.
