Steve Drobny

Steve Drobny is the Managing Partner of Clocktower Group and a Partner at Clocktower Technology Ventures, based in Santa Monica, California. He founded Clocktower Group in 2007 to connect institutional investors with global macro and commodity strategies, later expanding the firm to include a technology investing arm in 2015. Before establishing his own firm, he worked in the hedge fund group at Deutsche Bank and traded metals and energy markets at AIG Trading, having earned degrees from Bucknell University and the London School of Economics. Through Clocktower Technology Ventures, he has backed numerous financial technology startups, including Alloy and dv01, the latter of which was acquired by Fitch Solutions. Drobny, who also authored two books on global macro investing, currently focuses on alternative asset management across public and private markets, with specific interests in fintech, climate tech, and proptech.
