Simon Sharp

Simon Sharp is a Partner at Global Ventures based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where he directs early-stage technology investments across the Middle East and North Africa. Prior to his promotion to partner in 2023, he built his venture capital expertise through investment and corporate strategy positions at regional firms including Nuwa Capital and Gulf Capital. Throughout his decade-long career, Sharp has managed a portfolio of more than 20 technology companies and contributed to significant regional liquidity events, most notably the acquisition of Careem by Uber. In 2024, he successfully led a $100 million fundraise for Global Ventures to back emerging market startups, and he recently co-authored a January 2025 report analyzing artificial intelligence adoption trends. The University of Edinburgh alumnus maintains a primary investment focus on scaling early-stage enterprises within the fintech, healthtech, and enterprise software-as-a-service sectors.
