Simon Chan

Simon Chan is a Singapore-based General Partner at FirstHand Alliance, leading early-stage technology investments across Southeast Asia. Since joining the firm in the first quarter of 2024, he has managed a portfolio of over ten companies with $50 million in assets under management, recently leading an $8 million Series A round for the fintech startup Xendit. Previously, Chan served as a Partner at Wavemaker Partners from 2018 to 2023, directing over twenty investments, including the unicorn automotive platform Carro, which exited via SPAC in 2022. Earlier in his career, he held investment roles at Jungle Ventures and Golden Gate Ventures after earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore. His current focus centers on early-stage financial technology, enterprise software, and deep tech ventures operating within the Indonesian, Vietnamese, and Singaporean markets.
