Robert Ingram

Robert A. Ingram was a General Partner at Hatteras Venture Partners and a prominent life sciences executive based in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina until his passing at age 80 in 2023. He previously served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of GlaxoWellcome, where he co-led the historic merger that formed pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline. Joining Hatteras Venture Partners in 2006, Ingram spent over a decade and a half investing in early-stage healthcare and biotechnology startups. His extensive corporate governance experience included serving on the board of directors for RTI International from 2010 to 2022. He also acted as Chairman of the Research Triangle Foundation in 2011 and founded the CEO Roundtable on Cancer. Ultimately, Ingram's professional background centered on advancing the global pharmaceutical industry and cultivating the regional biotechnology venture capital ecosystem.
