Niraj Mehta

Niraj Mehta is the San Francisco-based Managing Partner and CEO of Kilowatt Capital LLC, as well as a Partner at ARTIS Ventures. He previously founded Persistent Asset Management in 2002, scaling the fund of hedge funds from $1 million to over $2 billion in assets under management before its exit. Before his venture capital career, Mehta held operational and investment roles as a Senior Manager at Orange Renewable Energy and Vice President at Abacus Holdings, and he earned a PhD in Chemistry from Stanford University and a BS from UCLA. Over the past five years, he has backed more than 200 syndicates and currently holds four board seats through his biotherapeutics investments at ARTIS. Mehta focuses his early-stage investments on pre-seed and seed companies operating within the renewable energy, energy efficiency, and therapeutic drug development sectors.
