Neil Sequeira

Neil Sequeira is the Founder and Managing Director of Defy, an early-stage venture capital firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Prior to establishing Defy, he spent twelve years as a Managing Director at General Catalyst Partners, joining the firm shortly after its inception in 2004. Over his twenty-five-year career in the venture capital industry, Sequeira has served on more than eighty corporate boards and overseen over thirty successful exits, including initial public offerings and significant mergers and acquisitions. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and currently serves on the growth board for Saint Francis High School. Sequeira's current focus centers on backing early-stage technology entrepreneurs while leveraging his extensive network of institutional limited partners to drive portfolio company revenue, build executive teams, and secure future fundraising rounds.
