Mike Dial

Mike Dial is the Managing Director of Chugai Venture Fund, an early-stage life sciences investment firm he joined in 2025. Prior to assuming this role, he spent sixteen years as a General Partner at Hatteras Venture Partners, where he focused on company formation and investments in early-stage healthcare innovation. He previously served as a Vice President at Silicon Valley Bank, managing financial relationships with emerging life science companies and venture capital funds. Dial began his professional career as a research scientist, holding technical positions at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and the UNC-Chapel Hill Department of Biochemistry. Leveraging more than twenty years of venture capital experience and a doctorate degree, his current focus centers on funding early-stage therapeutics and digital platform technologies addressing unmet medical needs in oncology, immunology, and rare diseases.
