Mark Sugarman

Mark Sugarman is the Managing Partner at MHS Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm based in San Francisco, California. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Stanford University in 1996, he began his professional career as the first investment professional at Internet Capital Group. He subsequently served as the Senior Vice President of M&A and Partnerships at VerticalNet, where he helped guide the technology company through its initial public offering. In 2006, he founded MHS Capital with financial backing from a network of successful technology founders and operators. Throughout his venture investing career, Sugarman has achieved two multi-billion dollar exits and held board positions at prominent companies including IndieGoGo, OPOWER, and Udemy. His current focus remains on providing venture capital to early-stage software and internet startups to build large-scale technology businesses.
