Marell Evans

Marell Evans is the Founder and General Partner of Exceptional Capital, a pre-seed and seed-stage venture capital firm based in Miami, United States. He launched the firm as a solo venture capitalist in 2022 and raised a $50 million inaugural fund by May 2024. To date, Evans has deployed capital into 16 early-stage startups across the industrial automation, robotics, enterprise software, cybersecurity, and fintech sectors. Prior to founding his own firm, he spent over a decade in enterprise sales at IBM and Okta, and later worked in venture capital at SoftBank. He is a Kauffman Fellow and previously played Division 1 football as a linebacker at the University of Michigan. His current focus centers on utilizing proprietary artificial intelligence software to source high-ambition founders and provide early-stage capital across the technology ecosystem.
