Jason Chen is the Founder and CEO of Slab, a San Francisco-based enterprise knowledge management platform that secured $2.2 million from Matrix Partners, CRV, and NEA to serve clients like Asana and Glossier. Prior to launching Slab in August 2016, he co-founded Stypi, a Y Combinator-backed collaborative text editor that was acquired by Salesforce in 2012. Following this successful exit, Chen worked as a software engineer at Salesforce, having previously earned both a Bachelor and Master of Science in Computer Science from Stanford University. He is also the creator and Benevolent Dictator for Life of Quill, an open-source rich text editor that boasts over 40,000 GitHub stars and released its 2.0 update in April 2024. Throughout his career as a serial entrepreneur, Chen has specialized in building innovative B2B collaborative editing tools and workplace productivity software.
