Hiroki Takeuchi

Hiroki Takeuchi is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of GoCardless, a global financial technology company based in London, United Kingdom. Before launching the payments startup through the Y Combinator accelerator program in 2012, he worked as a Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company and earned a mathematics degree from the University of Oxford. Under his leadership, GoCardless has grown to serve more than 85,000 businesses across 30 countries, processing tens of billions of dollars in annual transaction volume. Takeuchi recently guided the enterprise to a $2.1 billion valuation following a $312 million funding round in 2022, while also overseeing strategic acquisitions like Nordigen and Nuapay to expand its open banking capabilities. His current focus remains on scaling international account-to-account payment infrastructure and advancing direct bank payment solutions for global B2B software platforms and enterprise clients.
