Hall Chen

Hall Chen is the Co-Founder and CEO of Gridware, a climate technology company based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Under his leadership, the Y Combinator alumni company secured a $10.5 million venture funding round in 2022 to deploy its grid-monitoring hardware across regional utility networks. Before establishing Gridware, he worked in RF payload design at Astranis in 2018 and began his professional career as a research intern at Stanford University’s Hansen Experimental Physics Laboratory in 2014. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from UC Berkeley, where he served as Co-Director of the Hands on Practical Electronics program. Recognized on the 2023 Forbes 30 Under 30 list for the Energy category, Chen currently focuses on engineering hardware and software systems that modernize electrical grids and prevent catastrophic wildfires.
