David Ferris

David Ferris is a software engineer and technology entrepreneur who most recently served as the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of the research startup Phonic. He earned a degree in Mechatronics Engineering from the University of Waterloo before beginning his career in large-scale technology development. Ferris previously worked as a Software Engineer at Google, where he focused on real-time ad auctions, and as an Artificial Intelligence Engineer at Uber within its Global Intelligence division. He guided Phonic through the Y Combinator Winter 2020 accelerator program and scaled the company's operations over the next three years. Ferris ultimately led the startup to a successful exit in 2023 when it was acquired by the advertising technology firm Infillion. His professional background centers on leveraging artificial intelligence and distributed systems to build scalable advertising technology and enterprise software solutions.
