The Institute originated in 2015, established by team members of The Yield Lab, an agri-food tech venture capital firm founded in 2014. This inception stemmed from an insight into the necessity for dedicated non-profit efforts to support entrepreneurs addressing challenges in sustainable global food production, complementing the investment activities of its affiliated entity.
