Energy Technology Ventures is a corporate venture capital firm that invests in and collaborates with venture-stage and growth-stage energy technology companies across North America, Europe, and Israel. The investment firm targets next-generation technologies across a broad spectrum of industrial sectors, including renewable power generation, smart grid infrastructure, energy efficiency, emission controls, water management, oil, natural gas, coal, nuclear energy, and advanced biofuels. Operating with a $300 million initial investment commitment, the fund was structured to deploy capital into approximately 30 technology startups over a four-year period. Beyond providing financial backing, the organization, previously managed by executives including former Vice President Andrew Lackner, offers its portfolio companies strategic commercial collaboration opportunities directly with its corporate backers. Energy Technology Ventures was founded in 2011 as a joint venture established by General Electric, NRG Energy, and ConocoPhillips.
