§ Private Profile · Cleveland, OH, USA
Medical device company with Electrocardiographic Imaging (ECGI) for cardiac electrical mapping and arrhythmia diagnosis.
Based in Cleveland, Ohio, CardioInsight Technologies developed a minimally invasive Electrocardiographic Imaging system that creates comprehensive three-dimensional maps of the heart's electrical activity to accurately diagnose arrhythmias. The diagnostic medical device utilizes a specialized disposable vest equipped with over 250 adhesive-backed electrodes to detect cardiac signals noninvasively across the patient's torso. The company initially licensed its core mapping technology from Case Western Reserve University and subsequently partnered with product design firm Nottingham Spirk to refine the physical hardware. Before scaling operations to a team of approximately 40 employees, the enterprise secured $22 million in seed and venture capital alongside $12 million in debt financing. Medical device manufacturer Medtronic ultimately acquired the business and its proprietary mapping technology for a reported $93 million. CardioInsight Technologies was founded in 2006 by Charu Ramanathan and Ping Jia.
