Clean-tech chemical manufacturer converting rice husk ash into highly dispersible silica for green tires and industrial chemicals.
Brisil Technologies is a Vadodara, Gujarat-based clean-tech startup that converts rice husk ash into high-value chemicals like precipitated silica and activated carbon using a patented chemical process. The company operates a commercial-scale plant in Gujarat that consumes 50 tonnes of biomass waste daily to produce 25 to 30 tonnes of silica, targeting an annual processing capacity of 50,000 tonnes by 2025. Its highly dispersible silica is primarily utilized as a filler in energy-efficient green tires to reduce vehicle emissions, while byproduct calcium carbonate serves the paint, paper, and dental care manufacturing industries. Backed by $327.24K in seed funding from the CIIE incubator at IIM Ahmedabad, the nine-employee enterprise was recently inducted into the Marico Innovation Foundation Scale-Up accelerator program. Brisil Technologies was founded in 2016 by IIT BHU Varanasi alumnus Tanmay Pandya and Reshma Pandya.
