The Business Angel Network of Southeast Asia (BANSEA) operates as a prominent angel investment network, facilitating connections between angel investors and early-stage ventures across the region. Established in 2001 by Dr. Poh Kam Wong, a Professor and Director of the NUS Entrepreneurship Centre, BANSEA emerged from the insight that a dedicated network was essential to catalyze angel investment and foster startup growth within Southeast Asia. Dr. Wong's academic and entrepreneurial background provided the foundational expertise to build an organization focused on systematically developing the region's angel investment landscape, aiming to bridge funding gaps for nascent companies.

BANSEA serves both its member angel investors and a broad spectrum of entrepreneurs, particularly those with companies domiciled in Singapore or the wider Asian region.
