Founded in 2020 by Will Shahda and Chan-Ho Suh, APY.Finance is an automated yield farming platform that pools user stablecoins and dynamically routes capital across decentralized finance protocols. By automating these liquidity pool strategies and expanding to the Arbitrum Layer 2 network, the remote Web3 project maximizes passive returns while minimizing transaction gas fees. The platform gained early traction during its October 2020 liquidity mining program launch, locking $67 million in total value within its first hour and peaking at approximately $80 million. To support its development and a transition toward community governance, the protocol raised $3.6 million in private funding backed by Alameda Research, Arrington XRP Capital, CoinGecko, Cluster Capital, and ParaFi Capital. Originally recognized at the HackMoney 2020 hackathon, the platform generates revenue through performance fees on the yields produced by its automated strategies.
