ANDFOODS is a Palmerston North, New Zealand-based food technology company that develops and supplies plant-based dairy alternative ingredients, including legume-based creams and milk powders, to commercial food and beverage manufacturers. The enterprise utilizes a proprietary fermentation process to transform novel legume pulses into allergen-free substitutes that replicate the functional properties of traditional dairy products like cow's milk. Operating as a business-to-business supplier, the startup emerged from stealth with NZ$2.7 million in seed funding led by Icehouse Ventures, alongside research partnerships with the Riddet Institute and Massey University. The early-stage manufacturing firm generates less than $1 million in annual revenue and recently appointed former Synlait chief executive Leon Clement as chair to guide its global commercialization strategy. ANDFOODS was founded in 2023 by Alex Devereux, Arup Nag, Alejandra Acevedo-Fani, Yiran Wang, Debashree Roy, and Harjinder Singh.
